Just before the Easter break, all staff from the three schools in our Trust attended training on spotting the signs of child abuse or exploitation. This is part of the regular training we receive on safeguarding.
This particular session highlighted how paedophiles can infiltrate websites popular with children and, posing as other children, can use them as a means to groom online. This is a timely reminder to all of us that we must carefully monitor the online activities of the children in our care. Your Internet Service Provider will provide features designed to protect your child online. In school, our computers are protected by a very strict firewall. However, this does not absolve us of our responsibilities to monitor what the children see and hear online.
